Recently, several iPhone users experienced 'Error 53' which tracked down any third-party repair on the phone and shut down the phone'. the phones did not function even after rebooting the phone. It basically impacted customers who had gotten an iPhone repaired by a non-Apple technicians.
Apple stated if the phone failed to clear a security test which verified the functioning of fingerprint scanner via Touch ID and check if it worked at the time of factory testing phase, the software would disable the phone to prevent fraudulent transactions.
The handset displayed the error message when the user updated new software iOS 9.2.0. However, Apple has rectified the 'error' with the new software iOS 9.2.1 which will allow the user to successfully restore the phone data by connecting it to iTunes on Mac or PC. However the Touch ID will not work.
Apple added in its statement that ""We apologise for any inconvenience, this was designed to be a factory test and was not intended to affect customers. Customers who paid for an out-of-warranty replacement of their device based on this issue should contact AppleCare about a reimbursement."
